CORRECTIONS

Corrections log

When something on our site or in our results was wrong or misleading, we fix it and record it here: which page, what was wrong, what we changed and when.

How we correct

  • Only real corrections are listed: a wrong number, a misleading sentence or a measurement error. Typos and new features are not (those are in What’s new).
  • The date is the day the correction went live.
  • Spotted something? Write to contact@specoria.com and we’ll check it.

Think your score is wrong?

If a check in your free test result looks wrong for your store, tell us. A check that is wrong for one store may be wrong for others too.

  1. Write to contact@specoria.com with your store address, the check that looks wrong and what you see on the page (a screenshot or the exact text helps).
  2. We run the check again and compare it with the page an agent receives: the same request our free test makes, not a logged-in browser.
  3. If our check was wrong, we fix the rule, re-score and record the correction on this page; your result changes the next time you run the test.
  4. If the check was right, we reply with what the agent received and where on the page the fix goes.
  5. We don’t publish a false-positive rate yet: that needs a labeled set of stores, and we write it only once it is measured.

Corrections

Page: Compare page and glossary

What was wrong: The closing lines said the free test takes “about a minute”. We haven’t measured and published the test’s duration yet (the status page has no median for it), so the sentence wasn’t backed by a measurement.

What we changed: The duration was removed; the lines now say only that the test needs no card or sign-up and reads your public pages.

Page: Agent simulator

What was wrong: The page said the result arrives in “about 5 minutes”. Our field study measured a median of 57 to 86 seconds per run, and a live test took 83 seconds.

What we changed: The page now says “usually 1 to 2 minutes, up to 5 minutes when busy”.

Page: Free test and our own score on the method page

What was wrong: Software and SaaS sites that mark their product as SoftwareApplication (often also as Product) were measured as online stores, so store checks they can’t pass counted as “couldn’t check”. Our own site was one of them.

What we changed: These sites are now measured as service sites, with the checks that apply to them.
