Agent Readiness Index 2027
Shopping no longer starts in a search box. It starts in a conversation with an AI assistant. This report measures how well 471 English-language online stores publish the signals agents like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity need (access, product data, shipping and returns) in a form a machine can read.

- Technical readability
- AI bot access (robots.txt), sitemap, llms.txt, whether the homepage answers automated requests and whether the price can be read without running JavaScript.
- Product and policy data
- schema.org Product and Offer data on the product page, brand and GTIN/MPN, and shipping and return terms in machine-readable form.
- Two vantage points
- The same scan ran from a home connection and from cloud egress, showing how security layers treat cloud-originated traffic too.
The index is independent: no store names are published, only aggregate results; no store pays to be included.
