Shipping details in Türkiye: what agents read

Shipping cost, free-shipping threshold, delivery time and order tracking: what shopping agents compare and how the free test measures it on stores in Türkiye.

Türkiye

Why agents look at shipping

Shoppers ask agents for things like “free shipping” or “arrives tomorrow”. An agent can only meet that request if the store states the threshold and the delivery time in a form it can read, on the page and in the structured data.

How the test reads it

Turkish phrases the test recognizes

We look for rule-based patterns in the product page, the shipping page and the homepage text, without AI. These Turkish phrases are read as follows:

  • 500 TL ve üzeri siparişlerde ücretsiz kargo: free-shipping threshold
  • Kargo bedava: 750 TL: free-shipping threshold
  • 1-3 iş günü içinde kargoya verilir: delivery time
  • Aynı gün kargo: delivery time
  • Bugün kargoda: delivery time
  • Yarın kapında: delivery time
  • Kargo ücreti sepette hesaplanır: a general mention only (partial pass)

A desi-based price table on its own is not read as a threshold or a delivery time. The same patterns also cover English and German phrasing.

Check

Machine-readable shipping information

SC-POLICY-03 · weight 4 · Policies and trust

Why it matters: Filters like “free shipping” or “arrives tomorrow” read this field; if it’s empty the store doesn’t appear in them.

What passes: Shipping rate, handling and transit times are defined with OfferShippingDetails.

How the free test measures it

We look for machine-readable shipping details (OfferShippingDetails or ShippingService) in the offer or at Organization level and count four fields: shipping cost (shippingRate), delivery region (shippingDestination), handling time (handlingTime) and transit time (transitTime); the times may sit under deliveryTime or shippingConditions. All four pass; a definition with missing fields is a partial pass (one missing 0.75, two 0.6, more 0.5 points); no definition fails.

Check

Shipping cost and time on the page

SC-POLICY-04 · weight 3 · Policies and trust

Why it matters: If a shipping fee appears as a surprise at checkout the agent cancels its confirmation; if timing is vague it can’t meet “arrives tomorrow”.

What passes: The product page shows shipping cost, the free-shipping threshold and delivery time before the cart.

How the free test measures it

We look for a free-shipping threshold or a delivery time in the product page, the shipping page and the homepage text. Either found passes; a vague mention of shipping is a partial pass; nothing fails.

Check

Order tracking

SC-CHECKOUT-02 · weight 2 · Action (cart and orders)

Why it matters: Agents track orders for the shopper; without a guest tracking page they can’t follow delivery.

What passes: A guest order tracking page (order number + email) and a carrier tracking link are available.

How the free test measures it

We look for an order-tracking link that works without signing in (e.g. “Track order”) among the homepage and product page links. Present passes, absent fails.

Check

Currency and language

SC-CONSISTENCY-03 · weight 2 · Consistency

Why it matters: Agents compare prices in the shopper’s currency; a wrong code or language leads to wrong matches.

What passes: priceCurrency is an ISO 4217 code ({currency}) and <html lang> matches the page language.

How the free test measures it

We compare the price currency with the domain’s market (e.g. .com.tr → TRY) and the page language (<html lang>) with the market’s language. A mismatched currency fails; a missing or different language tag is a partial pass.

Limits

What the test does not check

  • Which carrier you use, how desi-based prices are calculated, or how long deliveries really take: the test reads what your pages and structured data say.
  • Whether order tracking actually works: it looks for a tracking link that doesn’t require signing in.
